Oadby and Wigston Borough Council are debating a motion on the changes to Oadby Schools tonight. Although the council does not have any powers for education, it will have to conisder planning applications for any changes to schools that have become academies.
The final text of the motion has not been confirmed but it is likely to be along the lines of offering the council's services to help achieve a consensus over a coordinated schools'
admission policy in Oadby.
Members of the public are allowed to observe full council meetings so please attend if you are interested. The meeting starts at 7pm Thursday 19th February at the Council Offices, Station Road, Wigston. More details on the council's web site.

SIGN: Petition against the changes

Sign online
or
Download a paper copy
Petitions have been very effective in other school campaigns, most recently against phasing out middle schools in Uttoxeter.
Please print off paper copies and get friends, other parents at the school gate and work colleagues to sign. If you are going to the consultation meetings, try to get signatures too. We recommend that if you are getting signatures or handing out flyers, you should stay on public land outside the school entrance.
Posters too: New Download Page
We have a new download page with sample posters, car posters, A5 flyers and petition forms all in PDF files for you to print out at home.

The Crowdfunder page continues to accept funds via card.
A reminder that the meeting is in the Conference Room at Costa Coffee on The Parade Oadby at 3pm Sunday 1st February. If you can't see us, please ask the Costa staff.

Help fund our Leaflet

Please contribute if you can. Remember, we are a volunteer organisation only able to fund leaflets by donations. These are a vital way to alert parents and residents in Oadby as to what the school changes mean..
